PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. (Jan. 19, 2015) – For the second year, the Southwest Florida Heart Center at Bayfront Health Port Charlotte presents the MEGA Heart, the world's only inflatable, walk-through heart exhibit. From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Feb. 27, visitors can participate in a highly interactive educational experience about America’s number one killer: heart disease.
Visitors can step inside the human heart, learn about cardiovascular functions, observe examples of various types of heart disease, and see displays of some of the latest medical treatments for heart problems.
This free exhibit is one of many events Bayfront Health is hosting during February as part of American Heart Month to increase awareness about cardiovascular disease and improving and maintaining heart health.
“As Charlotte County’s American Heart Association ‘My Heart. My Life’ cause partner, we have a line-up of activities planned throughout the month to educate the community,” says Marti Van Veen, system director of marketing and business development at Bayfront Health Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda. “Our goal is to raise awareness and help our neighbors live healthier lives, free of stroke and cardiovascular disease.”
