PORT CHARLOTTE, FL (January 20, 2014) –The Southwest Florida Heart Center at Bayfront Health Port Charlotte (formerly Peace River Regional Medical Center) will host a ‘Putting Hearts Front and Center’ event featuring the MEGA Heart, the world's only inflatable, walk through heart exhibit.
The MEGA Heart provides visitors with a highly interactive educational experience about America's number one killer: heart disease. Visitors can step inside the human heart, learn about cardiovascular functions, observe examples of various types of heart disease, and see displays explaining some of the latest medical treatments for heart problems.
“February is American Heart Month and as Charlotte County’s American Heart Association My Heart.My Life cause partner, we have a line-up of activities and events planned to educate the community on how to improve and maintain heart health throughout the month,” says Marti Van Veen, system director of marketing and business development at Bayfront Health. “By putting hearts front and center, our goal is to raise awareness and help our neighbors live healthier lives, free of stroke and cardiovascular disease.”
