PUNTA GORDA, Fla. (March 28, 2016) – Riverside Behavioral Center, an adult inpatient psychiatric facility at Bayfront Health Punta Gorda, welcomes the addition of psychiatrist Majd Alsamman, M.D. to Bayfront Health Medical Group as of March 23. Dr. Alsamman will be caring for patients hospitalized at Riverside.
Dr. Alsamman is board certified in psychiatry and neurology. He has been practicing in Florida since 2001. He most recently served as a medical director for a health center in Bradenton and prior to that as a medical director and chairman of the psychiatric subsection for 14 years at a hospital in Winter Haven. Dr. Alsamman specializes in acute inpatient behavioral health services for adolescents, adults and seniors.
Dr. Alsamman received his medical degree from Aleppo Medical University in Syria, completed an elective rotation in Manchester, England followed by a rotation at Damascus University Medical School in Syria. He finished his residency in psychiatry in Austin,TX.
Dr. Alsamman has authored two publications and has been a presenter on multiple topics, including the treatment and management of chronic depression and bipolar disorder, and psychiatric disorders and culture differences.
